What is Rice Kasu?

Rice Kasu is a fermented rice product made from brown rice that has been certified organic in Taiwan. The fermentation of rice further develops and enhances the nutrients found in rice, which can then be used for food and beauty products. This unique compound contains various amino acids, kojic acid, peptides, minerals, vitamins, and enzymes. Read more here.

Can I use Rice Kasu soap on my body?

Absolutely. Rice Kasu soap can be used on the hair and body.

Why is the bar soap so soft?

Our handmade soap naturally contains glycerin, which can contribute to softer soaps due to its tendency to attract moisture. However, this just means that our soap has more moisturizing capability for your skin than regular commercial soaps.

The soap making process (also known as saponification) naturally produces glycerin. Instead of taking out glycerin, which happens in commercial versions, we keep it in our soaps. Read more about our moisturizing soap ingredients here.

How can I help my bar soap last longer?

To prevent your handmade artisan soap from dissolving too quickly, keep it in a ventilated soap dish so the bar can dry out between uses.

If your soaps are natural, what is coloring the soap and adding fragrance?

We use natural colored clay for pigment and essential oils for fragrance and other benefits in our skincare products.

How much foaming cleanser do I need to wash my face?

Only 1-2 pumps of luxurious foam are needed to wash your face and neck. Please take care to keep product out of eyes.

If the foaming face cleanser is so silky, how does it exfoliate?

Exfoliation does not have to be abrasive. Our Rice Kasu facial cleanser and skincare products naturally exfoliate without scrubbing with the enzymes found in Rice Kasu. Enzymes help break down the dead skin build up on the surface.

Vinegar FAQs

Why vinegar and how is it good for you?

Vinegar is a health food that has been used since ancient times across multiple cultures due to the benefits it provides in maintaining your body health. It contains enzymes, organic and natural acids, vitamins and nutrients. Some of these nutrients can be found in the '‘mother” of vinegar that can be found in our bottles. Vinegar can help with maintaining a healthy body. See here for more about our vinegar.

How is your vinegar made? What is so special about Pureness Health vinegar?

The best quality rice grown in Taiwan that has been certified organic is used for brewing our rice vinegars. The rice, along with pure mountain spring water, is placed into ceramic ware to undergo fermentation using traditional methods. The yeast that we use to make our vinegars was selected for its ability to create vinegar that tastes less harsh and has a hint of fruitiness. We use the same starter yeast each time we ferment a new batch of brown rice vinegar similar to brewing sake or making bread. Since yeast is a living organism, our master brewers work closely with the yeast to ensure they exist in favorable conditions that enable them to make tasty brown rice vinegars. This results in unfiltered vinegar of exceptional quality with no additional additives.

Why is mixing my own vinegar drink the best choice?

By making your own vinegar drink, you can control the amount of vinegar, water, fruit or sweeteners you add. This way you can customize it to meet your body’s needs. Because there are NO additional sweeteners added in our vinegar, some people prefer adding some sweetness to their vinegar drink. See our suggested recipes here.

What is the difference between drinking rice vinegar and apple cider vinegar?

Pureness Health Brown Rice Vinegars differ from apple cider vinegars with the excellent taste that comes from aging our vinegars before bottling. Our rice vinegar tastes smoother than regular apple cider vinegar. Both can offer a range of health benefits.
